Canon DP4 on apple mac m2 mini haha ohh canon

Let's start, I don't edit images. I used to many years ago but ohh god its the most boring thing ever, and its funny to spend a fortune on kit only to edit the life out of images. Reality seems to be a lost art these days.

I've used Canon cameras since 1994 and seen the quality of their cameras decline to laughable levels. Reliability? Ha ha. Yeah, right.

So I went from a PC to an M2 mini. Why? I live off the grid in my motorhome and the PC uses too much lithium battery power and is slow and old. So the Mac mini came along six months ago, but before then I looked into whether PD4 would work. It does, since the older Intel chips were changed to the Apple ones.

So, for the hell of it, I called Canon, knowing they might not know anything as usual. The guy on the phone said no, it no longer runs on Mac minis, but I already knew it would. You download the Canon stuff and the M2 mini will set you up with Rosetta, and it works great. It's funny that Canon has no clue about it. No wonder their cameras don't work right.

I use it to convert raw to jpeg and to monitor the performance of the camera and custom picture styles and if you are looking to photograph what you see then canons own software is the only way, the rest will not work.

I think you mean Canon Digital Photo Professional, or DPP. It runs fine on my M2 MacBook Pro. It natively won't install unless you download and run a helper program, which is an interpreter for Mac OS. It should ask you to download another program when you open up the dmg file.

Lol. you didn't read what i put been using it. i took the piss out of canon for not knowing about it. lol does it matter what its called? sorry for not being propa lol.
