Now i'm a documentary photographer and nature lover so it doesn't mean when I have photographed anything that so called invasive creature i,m going to kill it. so many, so called nature loving photographers often do. Now, if you going to stamp out an invasive creature I can only think of one kind thats walks and talks. Before you ever class a creature as invasive have a look in the mirror, there you will see the most deadly, most invasive creature ever to live on this planet!

Scarlet lily beetle-invasive bug really?

Scarlet lily beetle (Lilioceris lilii) Invasive bugs UK.

Insect nature macro photography Scarlet lily beetle-invasive UK insects stock downloads.

Everything to humans is invasive when it involves money or upsets its lifestyle. a tree blocking a garden, a weed on a lawn, its all highly amusing to me as i watch humans destroying themselves as they do not understand the world around them, many photographers don't see the world around as their mind is drawn solely to the shot and to impress in social media!

The Scarlet Lily Beetle has a black head. This looks more like the Cardinal to me, species twice the size, with serrated antennae..

Most beetles have black mouthparts. The joints of the antennae in the Lily Beetle are cylindrical. Those of beetle in your images are nothing like cylindrical.

I checked the beetle specialist websites in the UK and all say the head is black. There are other species of Lilioceris but yours is not one of them.

    Who told you?!

I hope I don't come over as aggressive. I'm trying to help. My background is 36 years in an ecological group where accurate identification of many kinds of arthropod was essential. I know just enough about a lot of things to get me into trouble! :D

I'm trying to think whether I have seen the black-headed Cardinal but I did know about it.

    FB sounds like fun!

A farmer i did a shoot for, he was looking at the website and said about the beatles. I could kill him lol. Seen loads about down in England but none up here in Scotland. I know you not being aggressive, was on this forum way back in 2013 and I didn't fit. photography is crazy clicky so tend these days to stay well away and let the website do the work. I'm more towards showing people the world around me than screaming how big the camera is, you know the types lol. Floating around in my own wee world slowly dying of old age haha.

Two of the worse things to identify, fungi and ondanata (bloody spelling) dragonflies and damselflies as they tend to change as they get older. Ohh many moths too, smaller ones are a pain.

At the moment there's a lot of large black beatles walking about, i'm 99.99 they have been on the bottle as half are upside down, i'm always turning them over. fools the lot of them unless they are trying for suntan and been all day trying to get on their backs and there's me ruining their tans.

Did a joke in a fungi group, bare in mind half were collecting magic mushrooms, I took a photos of Jews ear, it did look like one so posted the photo and said this is what happens when a traffic warden puts a ticket on my car. lmao. was called a racist, murder and was banned. Lol its ok to do drugs but not have a joke.
