You can find some pretty nifty tutorials online if you search for infrared photography. Slightly different for certain cameras but mostly just need an infrared filter. Of course these shots were also colored in PS.

Cool stuff. I like the last one. How do you do your false color? Just swapping channels or is it something else? I've never gotten very good results when I've tried false color.

It's mostly a mix of chanel mixer and selective color layers.

Wow the skies and trees in all of those are great! I especially like the green of the sky and the crispness of the clouds in the first shot. Great shots!

I guess I am reviving this from the dead...Do I need to convert my camera for this type of photo work or can I get a filter and achieve the same type of results? Please let me know.

Hey. Really good looking pictures you have there. I've been looking for more information about the sensor on a Canon 40D, I read somewhere that it may have an IR blocker built into the sensor. I tried to google it but I've not had much luck. Do you know anything about it or know the links to any atricals or anything? :)

You can use an IR filter in front of the lens or have your camera modified. Check out http://www.lifepixel.com/

From my understanding all cameras have an infrared blocker on the sensor.

There are two things that one can do to change this is use a filter that blocks all other visible light...in order to achieve results that are what most will like you must have long exposures 4-11+ secs so you are limited to nature/landscape/architecture photos on a calm day. Some people do not like this and want fast exposures so they have a camera modified which removes this infrared blocker so that is what your camera will shoot.
