Wedding Ring Shadow

I have seen a few shots done with wedding rings - my favorite is the ones that have the rings placed in the bible casting a shadow? of a heart. How is this done?? Please help...:bow Is it even a shadow? Thanks!

I just use a single sb-800 behind the rings, adjusting the height of the flash changes the length of the shadow.

There's another thread somewhere too, but the dgrin search function isn't working right now and I couldn't find it. But if you scroll through the weddings forum you'll find a fairly long discussion about it and how it was done. HTH!

When I do that shot with nothing more than a simple maglight... works well for me.

Thanks! I tried it using a lamp worked pretty good.. not good enough to post.. I'm going to keep at it.. I really like that idea.
