Got Backstage at Sold Out Concert - Here's the Pics!

I went to a concert this past weekend with my Church group and took a
ton of pics of course. The venue seats just under 10,000 and there were a few hundred people standing at all times (they didn't do pre-sold tickets so I actually think it was a little more than sold out).

This was in Macon, GA and the Christian artists were Stephanie Smith, PureNRG, Francesca, Newsong, Hawk Nelson, Brandon Heath, tobyMac and a few others.

Entire gallery is here: http://www.johntookmypicture.com/gallery/7137379_fsTvg (image #50 is where the concert pics start).

Here's 2 panoramas from all the way at the back:

A slightly more compact view with a little less distortion:

I ended up straightening and lightening that one up just a tad, will re-post the edited version when it finishes uploading.

I'm always looking for ways to improve, so any C&C is welcome and appreciated. All the exif data is available in the main gallery here: http://www.johntookmypicture.com/gallery/7137379_fsTvg (image #50 is where the concert pics start).. Thanks for looking!

Nice series. Looks like you and everyone else had a good time. As far as C&C, the EXIF shows you were shootig a D200 in auto mode; I'd recommend shooting in manual...unless there was some specific reason for using auto. (I just think that's a pricey camera to be shooting like a point and shoot. I think it defeats the purpose)

p.s. I still have the SRT 201 my dad gave me for photography class in high school.

Thanks! I took a few in program auto but when the lights dimmed and I swapped lenses I moved over to either Shutter or Aperture priority.

The exif data on smugmug will always show the exposure mode (at least for my pics) as auto, but will show what actual PSAM mode I was using on the "exposure program" line.

Oooohhhh...TobyMac and Hawk Nelson in the same venue...niiiiice! I was just blistering my eardrums to TobyMac the other day.

    I really like the panoramas.

Thanks! And yep, it was some definite ear-candy for sure! I'm 34 now but still love loud music (all of our cars have decently upgraded systems and my house has 2 15's and 2 12's) and I was IMPRESSED by how loud their concert was.

No kidding - when I walked into the venue my pants leg started vibrating to the beat. :ivar

I'm actually many birthdays older than you and still love a strong, driving beat as loud as I can take it - now its just not as loud as in my twenties!
