Help!!!!

I took a photo for a wedding, and it is awful! My client wants to order it though. Will someone please help me fix it? I have tried all that I know, with no luck.........

Was it shot raw or .jpg? .jpg not much you can do without major art...if you have the raw file this can be fixed. This is about a 2.5 stop blow out.

Unfortunately it is a .jpg.........It was a quick wedding done on Christmas Eve...and I guess I wasn't thinking.

If it was a large enough file maybe you could recrop out the upper right, like just to where his fingers meet his hands, that isn't all that bad. Maybe selectively desaturate the hands?

try putting it in PS, and using a tool to select just the hands and bring down the exposure on just those...

Looks blown out. Can't recover the skin tones.
Try black and white and overall darken it a bit add some grain, give it a romantic look.

If the client likes it then it doesn't look awful.

How about something like this? Obviously with some more PP as I'm not that great at it, but it was just a try. Definitely needs some re-working though, but you get the idea.

I'm not crazy about this as is because it's too grey rather than B&W. If you're going to do this, darken & up the contrast on the B&W. you need more definition. Do you have any plug ins for photoshop? You can fix it with nik or onone

Yeah I know it needs work, I just did it really quick while I was in class at school. The work you mention is exactly what I think needs done to it too...

No I don't have any plug ins, nor do I know how to use PS that well. The class I was in I was actually learning PS...so I'm getting there.

After much complaining....I finally talked them out of that photo. I was told that her ring was too blurry in all of the other shots, but I don't see where it is too blurry....especially for a 5x7" print. Here is the final product, and the bride loved it!

I'm not crazy over it, but I guess it's not about me. Thank you guys for helping out! I knew I could turn to dgrin!

The first shot - the ring doesn't appear to be blown. If its the only version that is sharp enough for the client, what's to stop you from copying it from your first photo, pasting it into the second as a layer, applying appropriate color correction and transforms to make it the right color and size? I've done the same with eyes (blinkers - doncha know) and whole heads when working group shots.

But, bottom line is that the clients are happy with what you delivered.

That one looks a bit better than the first... Hey the client it going to like what they like, everyone has different views... And if they are happy that's all that matters, right?

Scott had a idea, I don't know too much about photoshop, but seems easy enough...
