I really like them both, but would have to vote for #1. There's just something about the guy (you again?) being so close to the right edge and facing that way that tends to lead my eye out of the frame. Like the blue hue as well. Excellent work as usual.

Both great shots. I love how the wall says "loaner" above the guy in #2. I think a horizontal crop would have worked better, though, or at least a little more space on that side.
I've been studying your shots and they're both really well done, though #1 is my favorite.
When you're doing a self portrait like that, how do you know you have the lighting and exposure right since you can be in two places at once? Lots of trial and error???

Text + hard shadows makes me luuurrrrrvvveeeee #2.
How's that for, "No help at all"?
Eta: #1 is Blues Brothers. #2 is Film Noir. Taken overall, I think that plonks me down for #2.
My vote is #1--looks great!

For the challenge, #1.
Both are fabulous.
I like the choice of blue tinted b&w.
#2 is just perfect with the background, the words on the brick wall, tint, attitude of the "model" - everything. I feel it in my gut.
