Gallery Photos not displaying

Did something recently change? I am no longer able to view any of my gallery photos where the style is set to SmugMug. I have also checked random galleries and am getting the same issue, so it shouldn't be any of my customizations. IE6 is reporting "Error on page". I am not seeing the problem on IE7 or Firefox. I need to understand what the problem is. Many of our users have not upgraded to IE7.

All other customizations are working fine. Slideshow, custom menus, etc so the Flash and IE script settings are fine.

Any suggestions?

I ran an html check (http://validator.w3.org/) on a random page (http://dogs.smugmug.com/gallery/10438_Jrg7W#340886_jobsL) and it found many errors. How long will it take for getting something like this corrected?

    I'd first suggest clearing you cache and cookies on IE6. Smugmug generally works on IE6, so we should first rule out anything with your environment. Also, do you have any other computers with IE6 handy that you could try it on?

    Your custom header field in 'site-wide customizations' had an unclosed
    tag. That could have been the reason for the error. I added a closing
    tag for you.

    Also, many of the errors listed in the validator you used, point towards your own custom header code. You may want to check that, too.

    I have the same problem with my photos, an error message appears and photos are not displaying.

    The only way I can sort the problem is by clearing cache and returning to the page.

    I am using OS X, latest verstion. The pages work perfectly well with my windows pc at work.

    ??

    Confused. Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks

    Hi Mark, your issue is different:

    We're so sorry to hear about your viewing issues. If you recently
    updated MacOSX 10.5.6 and use Safari, we have noticed that there may be
    problems such as you're experiencing. For now, we suggest using Firefox
    instead as a temporary workaround. It appears that Apple may have broken
    something in their latest update as these errors are new and random for
    the people that updated.

    You can get Firefox here:
    http://getfirefox.com

    It's not only happening on SmugMug, but also on other sites. It's an
    Apple issue that you can see here:

    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1828211&start=0

    Let us know if that helps for the time being. Thank you for your
    understanding and we apologize again for the temporary inconvenience.

    Sorry for the apple bug, and we sure hope they fix it this coming week as they've indicated they would.

    Thanks Andy for letting me know, and for responding so quickly.

    I will use Firefox for now.

    Thanks.....I thought I had done that, but after retrying this morning... It seems to be working again. IE6 is still complaining about errors down on the status bar, but it does not not seem to be causing any real problems.

    Thanks, but the site I posted was not mine....it was just another random site I used as a test.....to rule out any customization errors from my side. Here is what my custom header field looked like originally.

    <div id="my_banner"></div>
    <div id="navcontainer">
    <ul>
    <li><a href="/">Home</a></li>
    <li><a href="/Girls%20Team">Girl’s Team Galleries</a></li>
    <li><a href="/Boys%20Team">Boy’s Team Galleries</a></li>
    <li><a href="/gallery/6832893_r7huH">Contact Information</a></li>
    <li><a href="/gallery/6834068_TRH8v">Guestbook</a></li>
    </ul>
    </div>

    In order to get rid of the missing /div error, I actually had to add an extra </div> at the end. IE6 still complains about some of the syntax (SMUGMUG generated), but otherwise things seem to be working.

    I was just going to comment that I was having trouble with my galleries coming up, but I think this post almost has the answer.

    I upgraded Safari, so that may be the problem, but the only gallery I have trouble with is the one I created after the upgrade. All my other galleries have no problems.

    So, is this still on Apple, or is the Smug software making galleries in a different manner?

    The gallery in question is this one: http://davev.smugmug.com/gallery/7244092_xdmw8#465467190_utbCV

    If I click on the link, the photos don't show up, but if I click "Reload Screen" then they appear.

    Thanks.
    dave.
