Thanks, I was very lucky to get that job. The bride was a fashion model, family was wealthy, makeup artist was the best in the city/state, and the environment was excellent.

    Your Favorite Wedding Photo
I have enjoyed looking at all the others. One photo it is soooooo hard to pick one.
Weddings are such fun for me. I enjoy happy people.

    Here is mine:

I rode in the Limo for this one and the little boy is the ring bearer.

It's always hard to pick just one, but since I grew up surfing here everyday, this shot has a bit more pull for me.

Thanks for the kind words! I just used a canon 580 with a tight grid on the bride.

And another vote for the coolness of that one... Sooo cool!

Amazing light. Apparently I am in need of figuring out how to grid the light next.

    Cool Cool Cool Shot.

When/if y'all call me "Mr. Wealth of Artistic and Technical Information" .... then I will start to think I have something real to offer. Right now, I just read a lot, remember where I read it, and offer it up to others.

FWIW - Ziggy is my herobowdown.gifbowdown.gif - I want to be like him when/if I ever come close to growing up.rolleyes1.gif

Edit: Forgot to include people like (and in no particular order) urbanaries, photogmomma, Swartzy, Blurmore, heatherfeather and the list just goes on and on. One day, maybe?ne_nau.gif

The grid's that I normally use can be found here:
    http://www.honlphoto.com

Great value for what you get. They are small (slip in your pocket until you need it) and tough. The downside is that they produce a slightly rectangular hot spot.

Another option is to use studio grids and an adapter of sorts (I use an old lightsphere painted black). This produces a much more circular hot spot, but you can't put it in your pocket. Another advantage is that you can have a more flexible choice of grid angles this way. David Tejada had a great write up on this:

I made a cardboard grid for my alien Bee reflector, it makes a nice tight circle.

    479694347_pYJeH-M.jpg

the spot light on the floor is an AB with the cardboard grid.

I made a snoot for my sunpak 622 zoom head for this self portrait.

    192170909_Z622R-M-1.jpg

The AB grid was made as described on the blog Scott posted. The carboard DOES warm the light but not too bad.

    DJ,

Did you photoshop in those crepuscular rays, or is that natural and you got lucky as all get-out?
