Hi you'll,

I had a fine time yesterday. I did a little bit of shooting in the Wetlands in the early morn and the eagle came by and said hi. Then I headed up to the rookery in St. Augustine. This time I was joined by Dgrinners

Huskey8 (aka Richard Fleet)

While we were walking through the rookery an attractive woman with a Sony-828 came up to me and asked "are you Harry Behret"? I confessed and she introduced herself as another Dgrinner, Gaylenick.

We all talked for a bit and it turns out that Gayle has never posted here. I got a chance to look at some of her pics on her camera and they were outstanding. Not only was she a fine photographer but even better she was a really nice oerson.

So I'm hoping that if we ask real nice that she will delurk herself and hop on in here and play with us.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Good gosh, thanks for the photos of people and rookery, Harry.

Our rookery is nothing like that! WOW, I will put that on my list of things to buy.rolleyes1.gif . I will post a photo of our rookery......looking more like your wetlands.

I love seeing dgrinner's photos. Kirwin is new there, isn't he? He should meet Kevin, similar names.rolleyes1.gif .

    Thanks again for sharing, Harry.

Sid, it is noted by me that you have had some meals in 5 star restaurants.

ginger (what are those words again? I understand "egret") Garlic and leek and rice are also in my vocabulary, though not used much in writing or cooking.....can't, don't have any. (LENS LUST: a garlic clove at a time.)

    Hey Dee,

I have never been in a place that was so photographer friendly. The admission is $18.00 but you can get an annual photographer's pass for $60.00. Since I've been there three times already with two more trips planned already the photographer's pass is paying off already, With the pass you can also get in at 8 AM which is one hour earlier than the park's normal opening.

Then when it closes at 5 PM they let the photographers shoot in the rookery until 6:15 PM. At 6:15 they come around and give you the opportunity to leave if you pass on it you get to stay until 7:15 PM (very sweet light). The park employee stays until 7:15 even though he/she is off the clock. It is the custom for each photographer who stays after 6:15 to tip the worker $5. Then they have an annual photo contest.

    Hey Harry,

I am just now getting a chance to post! I had a wonderful time yesterdayclap.gif
I have to say it has taken me all day to recoup! a total of 6 hours of driving, 6 hours of straight shooting in @ 84 degree sunny beautiful weather, finishing up with a wonderful Italian dinner..whew! I was dead!...But well worth every minute. It was great to meet Kirwin, Huskey and Gayle and the many other nice photographers who were out shooting!

PS: stick to shooting birds...you don't have the photographic skill to make me look as good as an egret!!:D

It was a fine time. I really enjoyed it.

As for making you look good not to worry. I used to have to make Andy look good, now that was a challenge. :lol4

Uh, Harry, I haven't checked the print prices at smugmug recently, but would you make money selling them for so little.

(I can tell you that t-shirt would sell like hotcakes, though.) In fact, why don't you all just put a photo of you with Harry on a t-shirt, then send it to him to autograph. Or just a photo of him, if you all prefer.

Or, to include the rest of us, a photo of Harry, with the saying, "I know Harry Behret", if I got the name wrong, I am sorry, but I am so excited about my t-shirt.

Or the idea of one. Harry?

Hey, do we have to have a release?
