A few from Ruby and Second Beach

Went to the coast last weekend to get away and capture a few sunrises and sunsets. The light wasn't fantastic, but I had fun anyway. Only got attacked by the waves a few times out there :lol3

One sunset at Ruby Beach, a sunrise at Ruby Beach, and a rainset at Second Beach.

You sure do know your locations, Ron. You ought to make a book of that area. I like what you did with #14. The processing looks heavy, although it gives the image a depth that just draws you in. 6 and 12 are two of my favorite here as well.

I'm betting it's not. I've gotten that same blue lighting before when shooting well before dawn, especially around water for some reason.

Yep, definitely heavy processing. I was prepping it for a B&W conversion and liked the color better :D

Yeah, Dan is giving me too much credit, but I'll take it anyway :D

You're right that dawn will give you these types of blues (even on a clear day), but these specific blues are because it was raining quite heavily with 100% cloud cover and just after sunset (which is what I call a rainset). Instead of the lovely gray you get in the middle of the day you end up with blue. It's not a white balance issue either, these all have a warm white balance. I don't think these shots are common because most people don't stick around the beach after sunset when it's raining like this, but I was kind of curious to see what the results would be.

Here's hoping for some good light! I didn't get great light in any of these, but I still enjoy shooting out there. Even if it's completely raining and overcast you can get shots like the first three.

Wow, what a great lineup, it got better as I scrolled through. My favorite is #12 it has great movement, color and a great storytelling shot.

Yeow! #14 is a definitely step in a new direction for you! I love your existing style but that one has drama and color that I also like a lot. :D

Very nice Ron, I like the whole series quite a bit.clap.gif When I looked at #6 I had to take a second look because at first glance the water almost looked like wind swept ice.
