I was reading that it says you can embed a slideshow onto another website. How is this done?

    You would think that especially for Pro users, they would make this easier, like a copy and paste for any certain gallery.

    It is pretty much a copy and paste. All you need to change is the album id and key.

    And yes, you can use the slideshow outside of your smug site. If you'd like to see an example, I have a "play" blog in addition to the one I write in. I use it to check if something works, and to stash examples that people might want to copy. I have a slideshow in that blog both as a blog entry and as a sidebar entry.

    My play blog is at http://denisegoldbergplays.blogspot.com.

    what I meant is that they could make it easier on us in any given gallery to provide to us the code to embed the slideshow. I only said that because they are advertising on the site that you can embed the slideshows onto web pages, but then in order to do it, you have to KNOW HOW. of course it would be my preference if they did do this that it is only available to the owner of the gallery.

    sure I am a web designer, but not everyone else could just do this so easily.

    Sheri - I've been looking for the same solution. I'd say if it does not work in firefox or ie it doesn't really work :-)

    I tried it too and could not get it to work... help!

    A bit late to this but I just tried this from the instructions on this page and it works great in both IE and FF.

    See it in action here
    Cheers,

    Can someone tell me how to get the randomStart parameter to work? I've put it in every place where I see parameters in the code sample, but my slideshow always starts on the first picture.. Here's my code:
    [FONT=Arial][SIZE=2]<pre><object width="800" align="middle"  height="800">
    <param name="movie" value="[URL="http://www.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2007090601.swf?AlbumID=7612394&amp;AlbumKey=icXT4&amp;transparent=true&amp;crossFadeSpeed=500&amp;clickUrl=http://photos#46;myschoenrock#46;com/mapl"]http://www.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2007090601.swf?AlbumID=7612394&amp;AlbumKey=icXT4&amp;transparent=true&amp;crossFadeSpeed=500&amp;clickUrl=http://photos#46;myschoenrock#46;com/mapl[/URL]">

    You haven't put it the one place that it needs to go which is in this URL:
    http://www.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2007090601.swf?AlbumID=7612394&amp;AlbumKey=icXT4&amp;transparent=true&amp;crossFadeSpeed=500&amp;clickUrl=http://photos#46;myschoenrock#46;com/mapl%20

    like this:
    http://www.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2007090601.swf?AlbumID=7612394&amp;[COLOR=red]randomStart=true&amp;[/COLOR]AlbumKey=icXT4&amp;transparent=true&amp;crossFadeSpeed=500&amp;clickUrl=http://photos#46;myschoenrock#46;com/mapl%20

    Thanks for the quick reply. That worked! Now for the next question.. I published this on a blog site and there is a huge space above the slideshow. Is there any way to get rid of it?

    Here's the HTML that is actually in your page:
    <br /><br /><pre><object width="400" align="middle" height="400"><br /><param name="movie" value="http://www.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2007090601.swf?AlbumID=7612394&amp;AlbumKey=icXT4&amp;transparent=true&amp;crossFadeSpeed=500&amp;clickUrl=http://photos#46;myschoenrock#46;com/mapl"><br /><param name="wmode" value="transparent"><br /><param name="bgcolor" value="000000"><br /><param name="allowNetworking" value="all"><br /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><br /><embed src="http://www.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2007090601.swf?AlbumID=7612394&amp;randomStart=true&amp;AlbumKey=icXT4&amp;transparent=true&amp;crossFadeSpeed=500&amp;clickUrl=http://photos#46;myschoenrock#46;com/mapl%20" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allownetworking="all" width="400" height="400" ></embed></object><br /></pre>

    Can you remove the <pre> and </pre> tags and remove all the <br /> tags?

    I have used this same code to add a slideshow to my Rotary Club website. It seems to work fine except that in the case of long captions, the first and last letters are chopped off. I tried to ask that question in the Wiki thread, but apparently one has to register separately for that and the registration link tells you that you have to contact an administrator.
    Does anyone here know how to fix the captions problem. The slideshow is at http://www.rotaryclubsbnorth.org/50th.html
    Thank you in advance
