The California supreme court ruled in support of the ballot initiative passed by the voters that defines marriage as between a man and a woman. Thus stopping gay marriages in the state.

In San Francisco today many protested this by sitting in the street and refusing police orders to move.

It was actually very peaceful on all sides. The protesters had their ID ready and when it became their turn all but one stood up, presented their ID, and turned around to be hand cuffed. The plastic ties seemed to be very loose, and all were treaded with respect.

I will post a series of photos.
