Hamamatsu, Japan

Hi All,

I don't suppose anyone here is from, near, or has knowledge of things to see in and nearby Hamamatsu, Japan?

I'll be there over the next two weeks for buisness, but will have the weekends for sightseeing.

Unfortunately, most information available online is simply a composite of wikipedia and wikitravel.

    I'm in Tokyo, so I don't know how much help I can be, but here's my 2 cents.

    First, check out this Wikitravel article: http://wikitravel.org/en/Hamamatsu

    Frankly, I would suggest going to a more foreigner friendly tourist destination for the weekend, like Kyoto, Hakone, or Tokyo.

    If you do want to stay closer to Hamamatsu, I would suggest picking up a copy of Lonely Planet Japan and seeing what's close.
