Well done. I really like this. I like the location, pose, lighting, PP... pretty much everything about it. My only nit is his facial expression. Looks like he's in pain, - happy pain, but pain none the less.

    Thanks for posting.

I agree. The location and PP are especially nice here and compliment each other well. The pose is good too, but the model could have a better facial expression.

    Nice work.

Very nice work! I'm perfectly okay with this man's expression - he looks amused...as though he's about to laugh - well done.

    Fantastic! Really! :ivar

The only one tiny thing that distracts me (through no fault of your own)....it looks like he's wearing 2 different shoes because of the angle/lighting.

The lighting is superb. Looks to me like 45 degrees camera left front, and 45 degrees back lit camera left. Both in soft boxes, or umbrellas. If it was an umbrella, how freaking large was it!

Great shot all in all. The curves contrast boost worked really well here.

Even your water mark looks like it belongs there. Excellent.

    Thanks :)

He would not show his teeth when he smiled, it was really tough. ne_nau.gif For some reason I think that his smile/lack of smile does make you look at the image a little more. Making you think about why the look :)

    Thank you very much iloveyou.gif

The post processing was basically a B&W layer that was pretty contrasty
    a Cross Processed layer
and a Sepia layer and the opacities are adjusted to taste.

The lighting was a Profoto 600R with on umbrella at about 45º running on a Tronix 1200 (the older model) camera left (1/2 power or 300w/s). To the right at 90º to him was a silver reflector to fill, and the sun was used as rim lighting. The umbrella was 42" so not too big I think. Flash was 80-90% of the exposure (I guess that I need to get better at writing that stuff down)

Excellent! Yeah, jotting flash settings down and a sample picture in a notebook will save you loads of time when you want to reproduce the same results.
