Was up real late and wanted to get up for a sunrise shoot on the long weekend. A friendly bet saying I wouldn't do it sealed the deal.

$10 bucks and these :ivar

Haha, nothing like $10 to get you motivated to use thousands of dollars of equipment... :D I have a sunrise story from today too but I'll share it when I get the photos up.

Good series, favorite is the third with the sun peeking out.

    Hey I am cheap. rolleyes1.gif

It was that extra motivation I needed to crawl out of bed with only 3 hours sleep.

Thanks Ron. I am actually just getting back from a sunset shoot but no images until tomorrow. Time for some overdue sleep. :snore

And a very cool structure there... what in the world is it?

I need to find some friends that'll pay me to get up early... with my girlfriend gone for the long weekend I didn't even hit the snooze button until around 10am! rolleyes1.gif

    Sleep? Who needs sleep? ne_nau.gif

Wish somebody would give me $10. I'm here in Sedona and probably going to sleep in for the sunrise. rolleyes1.gif

    Nice shots, Aaron. thumb.gif

I especially like 3. Even your video has the awesome sun glaring off your vehicle. Getting up early...price; ten dollars. Getting those kinds of photos with memories to go with... priceless! :D

The structure is a Memorial. This area was a Japanese Internment Camp during WWII. It is not a publicized place and is not easy to get to as it is out in the middle of the Gila Indian Reservation. I have been out there several times and have never seen anyone else there.

I have one of these too! Is yours the wide angle or regular? I have the wide angle version with the extra roll bar mount. The only thing I find lacking are instructions to get around the menu system. I especially like the water tight case though! I thought that with this case, it would be hard to record sound, but was surprised it captured the sound of the race cars engine just fine.

Mine is the Motorsport Wide. There is not much to the menu but I had a few times where I thought I had started the camera and it never started. Like the 4th of July fireworks :soapbox

My Jeep is not very loud so I either need to adjust the volume to Hi or remove the waterproof seal to get some more engine noise. It has been pretty fun to play with and stick it on different parts of the Jeep though.

Thanks- the sun glare and reflection in the video was pretty cool to see when I plugged it in at home (no viewable screen).

Photos and memories are indeed priceless. So are these things hidden out in the desert. :D
