This camera takes 35mm film.

I know, crazy, right?

SOLD

The lens is a really early serial, so the body and lens are probably from 1961-62. http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/film/data/1956-1965/1961_7.html?lang=us&categ=srs&page=range

This Leica M39 screwmount 35mm rangefinder camera is in working order, the viewfinder patch is not quite aligned, i've just been hyperfocusing, and guestimating distances, which works fine for my shooting style. I have not seen light leaks on my negs, and the lens is sharp and contrasty, the aperture ring moves smoothly and the detentes are snappy. The built in light meter is as mediocre as it was new, but it works. This is the selenium version of the light meter, it has high and low light modes, both of which cause the needle to bounce around, sort-of indicating the optimum aperture.

One shutter curtain is wrinkled, which has zero effect on operation of the camera, it's just a telltale of a previous owner with chunky thumbs. The front element of the lens is scratched and has a ring of haze in the center, which looks much worse than it is. I would classify the lens as UG, the body is EX- or BGN+. Definitely serviceable, definitely fun to use, a marvelous tool.

These rangefinders are hard to sell, even when they're as cool as yours. I'd recommend trying out rangefinderforum.com as you'll have a like-minded audience.

Sorry Jeff, I do not have the 50mm f/.95, just the f/1.4 (which is substantially smaller and lighter)

I ran a roll of Ilford 3200 through this over the last month. It's been a pleasure to use, but it's time for it to find a new home. I'll scan and upload some of the shots when i can find the film holder :O Focus looks spot-on, and I found zero light leaks. Hit me up with offers or trades, i'm open to suggestions, i just need to free up funds for the UWA or macro.
