    Hi Gavin,

Nice work! I think my favorite is the one under the brick arch. stands out nicely and it's nicely light in contrast with the bright background. i also enjoy the DOF.

I feel like I would like to have seen her smile in a one of them...

    :)

These are really pretty! Love your light and the dof is perfect!

They do feel just a tad cool to my taste, but that might be just me.
Love the texture and colors in these... her curly hair with the bricks is a fantastic combo.

Great series. Beautiful subject. I like the location. The contrast between subject and bricks definitely work for me.

#1 and #2 appear to be a tad overexposed on her face from my uncalibrated lcd here at work.

Other than that I think its a good series.

    Cheers

    Thank you everyone :)

Regarding the color temp, I found that actually really rather hard to nail on this one. She has really red hair. If I increased the yellow at all it turned her hair really orange. This was the best balance I could find, to make her hair look the most natural.

Any ideas on getting around this? Perhaps Making to files with different color balances in the RAW converter, one to account for her hair and one for the background, then layer mask them together?

I opened in ACR and used the WB dropped and clicked on the white of her eye. I also boosted the clarity to 25 and lums to 25. added a slight vignette...

    That does look much better,

You opened in adobe camera Raw? not sure what you mean when you say you used the WB dropped, where can you adjust lums?

    cheers!

I meant the WB tool that looks like an eye dropper. :) Also, not lums, but vibrancy. Got ahead of myself. rolleyes1.gif

Yeah, you can (in preferences) open jpg files in ACR.

Nice work here Gavin. Great use of DOF, subject is in sharp focus and nice PP...and yes the whites of her eyes were more of a yellow tint but that WB trick works great or even a HS Layer and drop the yellow out..... I like that you got so many from the same location yet distinctly different. thumb.gif

Very nice, thanks for posting! I prefer #3, 4 and 5 for her relaxed expression. it seems like she is slightly more uncomfortable in the first two. I really like the archers, nice location!
