Here we go again....

Okay, the first group was cut from 60 to 28, and now it's back up to 65. On orders from my daughter, the goal is now different. Instead of eventually ending up with 15-18 of my best family images, the idea is to end up with 15-18 of my best images.

678437671_R2ZhM-XL.jpg

So here's the latest cut. Again, the question isn't your standards, but mine. (Which is not to suggest that yours aren't as good as, or better than mine :rofl).
So if you have time to kill, jump in again and just put your name or initials, with a "Yes" next to an image you want to see in the final 30. (And do not think that the white border around the subway photos means anything. :wink )

Thanks again

B.D. - where/how do we put our initials? Some of us already had problems trying to leave comments.

    BD,

Hard to choose, there are so many good ones. Here's my list (according to the gallery numbers):

    3,4,8,10,13,14,16,20,23,26,27,32,33,37,42,45,48,49,51,53,55,57,65.

Sorry if I didn't follow the rules--I was trying to think like BD. rolleyes1.gif

I think we would all be interested in knowing what the final cut is.

Thanks, Richard - I will make two cuts - down to about 30, and then the final, and as I make them, will remove the losers from the gallery, so you'll be able to see.

Hi, Sara - If you go to the bottom of the page - depends on your monitor size - on the lower left you should see a place for commenting.

Thanks, Wil - And, yah, 24 is one of my all-time favorites. Found him by himself in an alcove in a hospital. He was just standing there, leaning over the isolate, besotted by his tiny new kid. Wonderful scene.

Did the numbering change? 23 is dude4; 24 is the one of the tiny hand holding the finger.

Well, yes, because the first 55 got cut to 28, and then I added about 40. So the numbers changed.

    B.D., a question:

Any particular reason that you reversed #5 (678437671_R2ZhM-XL) when you posted it at the top of this thread?

…I just wondered (actually my question leads to another related to design, which we could discuss in another thread perhaps?)

Yes. I realized that I had scanned it flipped, so I flipped it back the way it was shot. What's the design question?

My very favorite is #51--the "older brother" with his own pacifier looking at his new baby brother/sister in the incubator---Wow!

    so 51 and 51 again 2,6,7,9,11,13,19,26,25,27,36,40,42,64 and 67.

Thank you for sharing these images.

Also the first subway image with white border of the crowded train and in particular the woman. The look on her face is priceless.clap.gif

Funny because it made me do a double take when I first saw it.

EDIT--and holy smokes--I missed photo 51 that I love so much. Is that a photo of the baby's older brother inside his incubator as his older sibling looks on? oh man that is so sweet. Vote for 51 AGAIN.

Possibly of the whole set, but of the NICU shots, 24 is the most powerful. The father's stare, the touch, the wondering, the darkness around... Speechless.

We're getting different numbers - is that the mirror shot?

My question (more of a comment actually) was to do with the use of flipped photos. I realize that sometimes a graphics designer will prefer a shape or the way a graphic will point or lead in to another part of the overall design, and so the flip makes sense, but occasionally the flip is done inadvertently and makes no sense whatever (for instance reversed musical instrument).

BTW: when I looked at your gallery, #24 was the tiny hand & finger (great shot! thumb.gif )

I can't copy/link your images, but that's the URL when I'm seeing 24 of 71 in your gallery (which seems to have grown since last I saw it was at 69 shots).

I cut the number of images down to about 28 after my daughter made her initial cut, and then added a big bunch of images. So now it's back up a little bigger than it was originally. Just wade in any time and keep voting. rolleyes1.gif
