Rather like #1 and #4 -- not sure about the negative space at the bottom, & would like to see more of the flame in frame.

ooh, I like #2, it's like an aurora borealis in a glass (not that I've ever seen one)

I like the abstract of #3. The flame almost seems like a human arm.

I agree with Mark that #1 and #4 could be improved by including more of the flame and less empty space at the bottom.

For me, #3 does not have enough context.

As they stand now, I like #2 best.

#1 is much more theme worthy than your first round of efforts, I agree that some of the dead black space needs to go. Nice choice of textured glass to give us some context.

    Reshoot
Thanks everyone for the feedback, I really appreciate it.
Having taken on board the suggestions & having got hold of some 100+ proof rum I attempted a re-shoot over the last couple of nights.

    Here are the new ones:

    And some thing different

    What do people think?
Are any of these theme worthy?

    TIA for C&C

I'm having trouble figuring which one I like most. Definately one of the flames. B&E have the most abstract coolnessm though D might be the better entry.

Thanks for the quick feedback Andrew, I appreciate it.

I am having a similar problem choosing which is why I posted so many, I did actually narrow it down from the original 20+ workable images. It was great fun to do but my kitchen now smells like burnt rum.

Greg & Sean, thanks for weighing in with feedback, I appreciate it.

Thank goodness I remembered by days as a bartender & the people who wanted their flaming sambuca.

Sean, the blues are pretty much as is, only some levels adjustment for most of them - overproof rum burns pretty darn good.

I also like A, but agree D is a good photo, but really prefer A. I think it is the almost catch of the full flame as it goes up.

I also like the "full flame" of A (I spent a lot of time trying to catch the perfect one - burning liquids can be so uncooperative at times :D) I'm just not sure it says "Blue" as much as D or some of the others.

Decisions, decisions - I'll try not to be the very last entry in the gallery this time round.

I like A for the way the flame leads you up and for the chevron paterrn that repeats in the flame. But I would like to see it cropped with a little more space above the flame.

I'd actually pick C as my favorite. The vesel doesn't compete with the flame and your have a central symmetrical element with an area of interest with the orange flame to the side.

So, I guess you have all of them covered now! That's what makes photography so much fun.

    Go with your gut.
