There are actually two vehicles on top of that bus, which are sitting on a lot of melons. Sure says a lot about Mercedes! I guess they still do make them like they used to! rolleyes1.gif

The cars appeared to be in good shape...really good for Afghanistan, so I don't know why they were hauling them that way. I would have loved to see how they got them up there or will get them down, since you just don't see many cranes around. Mostly their scaffolding is of bamboo too...ne_nau.gif

There aren't any enforced traffic laws here, so everyone does about whatever they want to...No licensing either for drivers or enforced age requirements... It makes for interesting trips around the city. This is actually not that unusual here as this scenario is seen many times. I just happened to get this one photographed. We laugh and point a lot and shake our heads even more...
Hard to believe the weight doesn't crush it.
I wonder how slow the driver takes corner.
    I love this image.

That is just totally amazing. Next time my hubby says I can't haul something on the top of our Jeep I'll remind him of this photo rolleyes1.gif

I forgot to mention that there were no straps or tiedowns used on any of the items up there either...

Depending on availability and costs of fuel that makes complete sense.

Wow....no straps. What happens when they take a corner? Brave you...standing in front of the bus to take that photo :D

Kinda curious ... what's the round things in the bags below the vehicle on top of the bus?

They must use wooden ramps to get those up there....think so????

They could, but they use bamboo for scaffolding and they don't wear harnesses and they climb barefoot, so I think that OSHA may take issue with their construction sites rolleyes1.gif

The round things are bags full of melons, I presume that are going to market, to be sold. :)

This one doesn't work for me. That things are stacked is somewhat interesting, but there's not much beyond the curiosity. Technically (not that I'm qualified), the whole picture feels flat and without contrast. It's almost gone completely two dimensional. Can you raise the blacks and contrast?

Melons squished by a vehicle -- think they better sell juice instead rolleyes1.gif
