These are shots from within the now defunct Babcock building In Columbia, SC. It was built in its entirety between 1857 and 1885 to be the then new Lunatic Asylum. Creepy place...
I tried a couple of different looks for a couple of the pics. Let me know what you think. C&C welcome!

No he was committed... (just kidding)

The interior didn't look like it was ready for prime time (tours), the halls are a liability nightmare.

These abandoned buildings are always interesting, I love to look...

thanks for the post (BTW I like the last selective color image)

permit? ummmm...no. :) It's closed off. I just found an entry that was left open.

    Committed? Laughing.gif. Maybe!

    Thank you for the input!

I love a good spooky asylum! The stained glass windows look like a really nice feature. Were there many other relics still in this place or is it mostly cleaned out? We're not seeing any of the classic wheelchairs-in-a-corner shot that usually come from asylums. :D

The complex looks absolutely huge from your upper views.

More shots soon, I hope! A couple friends checked it out today and said they found an area with gurneys, etc. I'm looking forward to heading back out to snap some pics.
