Green Lake, green forest

Despite guaranteed rain, I travelled to Mount Rainier National Park for my semi-annual trek to Green Lake. It's been a favorite of mine since it's a nice, short hike located in the less visited northwest corner of the park. Repeated flood damage to the road in the park forces you to now hike the road to get to the trailhead (making it a 10 mile roundtrip day). It's not all bad because it allows you to enjoy the temperate rainforest that you'd normally zoom through in your car.

I hoped for early season snowfall at the lake and got my wish. The constant rain during the day chilled me to the bone so I did stay long at the lake. Besides, a steady rain/sleet made for challenging conditions.

Really like the perspective in #5. Also like #6, has a very tranquil feel to it.

    Scole,
I agree with your self-assessment that #6 is the best of the bunch. Very moody and does a nice job of literally putting the viewer in your shoes. The first shot of Green Lake is better since the FG leads you into the scene. The whole series is nice, too!

Very nice series! Love #1! You mind shooting me a link to a google map of where you were standing for #1? I live just north of Seattle and would love to get down that way sometime for some nice winter shots.

    Thanks!
