Walked into the city to get my licence back today. City Hall had a display on of WWI Colour photos. Thought i'd try my hand at taking a photo of a photo.

They had no worries with me filming in there.

0zzie troops fighting at Pozieres & the Somme in France.

All of these photos were taken at 1/4 second without a tripod. Lucky i dont shoot with the other hand.

My grandfather was sent here after Gallipoli...they fought other battles into the coldest french winter in 100 years (these blokes were Australian farm boys & had never felt cold weather before) My grandfather had no time for kids but did tell us of the places. He said that you prayed for a shell to land near by & when it did there was a rush to be 1st into a dry hole. I can remember when i was a kid he would still wake in the middle of the night screaming some 50 years later. He was shoot twice & Mustard gassed once but still smoked plug tobacco & drank scotch til he was 90.

Cool shots, man. Love those photos of photos... geez, yer hands are really steady if those were 1/4 secnd exposures... I have the shakes something fierce, I could never do that.

And your city skyline is tops.
