Capture One, Aperture, Lightroom?

    There are many, many threads comparing this in the other Photo Finish forum; have a read.

    Though I'm unsure where you got your $300 price for a new version of Aperture? An upgrade is $99 or a full copy is $199.

    Don't know anything about Capture One, however, rumors are that Apple will be releasing a new version of Aperture "soon" (mind you, there's no telling what that means).

    I'd be surprised if Aperture didn't leapfrog Lightroom when that version comes out. However, Lightroom will then undoubtedly leapfrog Aperture again.

    The big advantage to Lightroom is that it has a massive lead in market share, so any photography forum is likely to be filled with Lightroom users.

    Personally, I'm going to wait until the next Aperture is released before making my decision.

    In my little experience with LR2/3 beta and Capture one is..

    C1 best output, need a lot less tweaking to get it right. but slower and and clunkier than LR2/3

    LR2, if you are a Nikon shooter, it almost sucks for output. But allows much better workflow.
    LR3 beta, better than LR2, but still needs a lot of tweaking.
