Hi Nik,
That's really cool:cool. I like the reflection of the red glass in the green glass, adds a realism to it. Nice effect. Now you are going to have to tell us what you did to get that. Is it PP or just the placement of the glasses? Enquiring minds want to know.

Great shot- I'd guess the red wine glass is just to the left of the other glass.

Hi Brian, I think you are right
That would be my first assumption also. The red in the back of the green glass pushes this assumption. The mirror edge in the green glass would be very difficult to create. A very creative setup which makes one think

Initially I thought of PS-ing the whole thing together.
But when I actually got both glasses & vanity mirror together I realized that I don't need it - it's all real. Reg glass is simply left outside the frame (on the left).
So the whole setup is incredibly easy, but it makes a nice picture:-)

Went to a challenge!

Hi Nik,
I'm glad you entered it. It's actually closer to reality than to dreaming which is quite scary. It's really amazing at what people see in themselves when they look into a mirror. Many don't see themselves for who they really are so in a sense, what they see in the mirror is no more than a dream, either more or less than what they really are. I found it very appropriate for the challenge. Now, whether or not you read this much into your shot is another matter. That's what I love about photography, for the most part, there is no right or wrong, just perceptions. In my book, perceptions are greater than reality.

Actually, I didn't realize that it's gonna be a PS fest. I really don't understand what's the point of requesting certain camera brand for such heavily postprocessed items, let alone what does it have to do with photography (it's a computer graphics/art)...

Don't get me wrong: I always admire a good PS work, but I always thought there should some limit to it when you present a "photograph".

Here's an example (I posted it as a joke half a year ago at stf):

This is not a real picture (though both shots of Yosemite valley and the plane were taken by me). I would not enter that image into a photography contest. It's like swapping heads.:yikes

I am pretty good at PS and have no problems with going wild with it. But I do think there should be separate challenges for photographs per se and for computer-aided art.

But I guess it's just me

I understand your frustration, I have felt that way on other STF challenges. However, given the host for this challenge, it was always going to be that way.
