Great catch. I like the sepia treatment as well. The difference between the serious horseman and his seemingly clowning mount is hilarious.

    Sorry, I wasn't thinking

The Seminole resistance to removal to a reservation brought about the Second Seminole War. It started on December 28,1835, when a column of 107 soldiers led by Major Dade were ambushed by the Seminole warriors at the Dade Battle in Sumter County, Florida.

It was the first reenactment I had ever been to and it was very interesting learning the history. Seeing it played out added quite a bit to the learning and understanding of what it might have been like at the time.

Here are a few more images

Thanks for the history lesson, and I also enjoyed the additional images. Great capture on the musket firing thumb.gif

Great image, Phil. But I'm having trouble deciding which one is the real crazy horse.....the rider or the horse.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

    Thanks for the compliments...

I got lucky on a couple of firing shots. It was difficult with the muskets for sure. Thank goodness for 5 frames a second.

    Howdy Phil,

Really loved that first image and the following ones as well.

Great shot on catching the Musket Firing that's a very neat image all around.

I really liked learning about this also, you really have to admire the Re-enactors and all they go through to keep that part of History alive.
    Take care,
