Hi gang...back from my annual trip to Yellowstone in January......what a fun time. Went to Mammoth on the first Saturday, taught classes all week, then off to the West entrance on the following Sunday. I love this place :D

Awesome shots, Dave. You did much better than I did there on your landscapes -- both in light and compositions. bowdown.gifbowdown.gif

I'll look forward to seeing what you got for wildlife as well.

    Cheers,

    All fabulous shots.

I didn't think a monochrome photo of snow would work, but I have to admit, #11 really grabbed me as I scrolled through the set.

Hey Tom, January is a great time to go for certain. Was fortunate to get good light that day.
    All fabulous shots.

Thanks Wildcat. Me too...but once trying some out I realized how neat it looked..took a bit of work but is fun!

Randy & Schmoo............Thanks so kindly. What? you ask was I teaching?

Every year (for the past 20 Years) I teach a hands on training seminar in piano tuning, repairing, regulating, business practices, etc. We typically have between 20-30 attendees. I'm a technical advisor and instructor for the largest piano correspondence course in the world (Randy Potter School of Piano Technology) and each year offer a week long seminar. It is lots of fun but involves very busy days (13 hours per day). For the past 5 years we've held it at MSU's music department. Previous years were in Minnesota, Kansas City and Baylor University. I enjoy going to Montana as I can sneak away before and after the seminar for landscaping. Next year my hope is to get to the "canyon" and shoot the ice formations.

Someday, I'll take the time to visit Spring/Summer months for other areas.

And yes, I do quite a bit of portrait work there for the attendees, offering them options of editing and such for their advertising purposes....so photography is an important part as well during the week :)

Thank you so kindly everyone! I've always had a passion for landscapes and gives me a nice break from coming up with lots of creative stuff in the portrait world....with landscapes as you know...if the setting is right, the light is right..well, oooooh baby! If not, well you try try again..Laughing.gif

I always look forward to Yellowstone as one could easily spend a couple weeks there with so many possibilities :D
