This is special you all, very special. With no water, I hiked a long ways on a bridge. I never expected Wood Storks, my first woodstorks! YAHOOOOO! This is a real marsh, just not developed YET. Between Mt Pleasant and the Isle of Palms.

ginger, enjoy the colors of a summer marsh. Wood Stork is a bonus.

I call this one below: "The Congregation"

And an egret on the marsh

I could assume that I took all of these with my 300 and extender, but I also had the 70-200 on, so I am not sure. All were taken this afternoon. Sometime between 3 PM EDT and 5 EDT.

I love the marsh, just love it, wish this hike were easier, or that I were younger and lighter.

more later,
I have more, but wanted to post these,
ginger

A Wood Stork!!!!!! Finally!
After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.

Thanks, Andy for stopping and commenting.

I just heard on the news that the heat index today was 106. I wonder why I am still alive.

I am just thrilled with the wood stork. And he spooked easier than any bird I have ever photographed. I was way above him on a bridge, but he spooked.

    Thanks again,

    Sally, Pathfinder, Ben,

Thank you all so much for stopping by and for the nice comments. Yes, I would have died.................happy. Having seen the photos, I can die even happier now,:): .

Pathfinder, your comments mean a lot to me. Thank you. I wish that climb were easier. It became a birder's paradise for me. Combined two of my loves, the birds and the marsh, both. And to get a Wood Stork, super cool for me!

I have slept all day today. I got up to feed the dogs and take them outside, I even ate a sandwich, that is all I have done awake since 5 AM this morning.
    I was just whipped.

Ben, bless your heart, hehe, thanks so much for stopping and replying. I love to get comments. I look for you and Jeff's comments every time I post. Jeff? Are you busy?

I must not be greedy, you all have been wonderful. I am sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I worked up more last night, but I was too tired to post them, so that will be tomorrow, I guess.

Nice shots Ginger. It's fun (at any age) to see something for the first time.

Hi, Dave and AJ............love those firsts, especially at my age.

I think there should be shuttles to the middle of that bridge, kind of to get the birds used to us elderly with white lenses.

    Thanks for the comments.

(There doesn't appear to be much wildlife, the expanse is so large, but I even have Ibis in flight. Was awesome. Wouldn't it be great with a huge threatening sky. Uh, it is a well used bridge, traffic shaking the bridge at 60 plus miles an hour right next to me. Runners do use it, and bikers.)
