I went out yesterday before work, as the rest of the week is either weather or work during daylight hours....
What I was looking for wasn't found (but will be in the back of my head till I do, now that I have the idea)

Roamed around a bit of downtown Petersburg, Va, known as Old Town....

I like #2, its almost there. Its really strong on color. I like the conrast between red brick and the tree branches. It could be stronger on composition/angle I think, because its the type of shot that may be more about the composition than the subject, if that makes sense!

sadly the distortion is what i've got.... shooting from the parking lot aiming up and no chance to reshoot as we are expecting something between a flood and a blizzard....and I headed to work all weekend...

I like the quirkiness of #4, but agree with the others on #2 and #6.

When you come to a door... walk through it.
If it's locked... find an open window.

I like the juxtaposition of #2, with the door looking freshly painted and in great shape, and the window looking like an abandoned building. The tree bothers me a little, maybe I would have gone with a lower perspective?

    #6 has nice repetition.

#2 and 6. In 6, do you have the rest of the left and right? Maybe use the columns as the borders? Either way, I think either of these would be a great entry.

I like #1, but I think I would like it more if you were a bit closer so the tree did not block the top part of the door.

I like the new #8, The dummy in the window looks pensive and I like the red.

Darned tree and telephone pole are almost inside the building in number one...it's the first time I've shot this house, will explore it more another day, but the angle for that door appears to be a challenge...
