I remember in the not to distant past - Smugmug partnered with Blurb Books.

1. Is Smugmug still partnered with Blurb?
2. Has anyone used the services of Blurb?
3.If you have used Blurb - how easy or difficult are they to work with?
4. Would you use Blurb again?
5. Is Blurb willing or able to publish on demand? For instance - one customer orders a book this week, two customers this week, one customer the week after that - etc.
6. If you publish with Blurb - can you set up an ordering portal from your Smugmug web site?

I look forward to any responses I may receive - Thank You!:thumb
I really don't have anything nifty to say so I will remain quiet and observe!

Some DGers have at least looked at using Blurb recently, see http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=155402

I haven't read the entire thread, so I'm not sure if they ended up going with Blurb or somewhere else.

I haven't used them myself, but a good friend (and fellow SmugMugger) uses Blurb regularly to produce photo books. After our annual airshow, or other major event, he'll produce a book and present copies to some of the key participants. He also has produced books for family/holiday gifts, and usually has one or two in the car when out shooting to serve as a portfolio to show off to people. From what I've seen of them, the quality is good, and I've never heard him complain about them.

Absolutely - when my friend has prepared books, and someone wants to buy one, he simply points them to his Blurb account where they can order directly (not sure how the pricing works) or he can order individual books as needed.

arodney, I looked at the link you posted about the dissatisfied Blurb customer and also looked at the link to the Dave Black stuff.

Wow! Going by the quality of his photos and if he is satisfied with the books that Blurb prints for him I know where I'll be going if I ever get round to printing a book!

Stunning images, incredible work. He has raised the bar as far as I'm concerned.

    Thanks for the link!

My pleasure - it's the New York Air Show held at Jones Beach (Long Island) every Memorial Day weekend.

I have heard of it. :D The airboss ( Wayne Boggs ) is known to me because he does the Peoria show....One of these years I'm gonna get out there to witness the show...I'll be doing Coulmbia Missouri and Janesville Wisconsin this Memorial day though...look forward to seeing your work....
