Engagement Session from Sunday

I had finished this session for a couple that I'm doing a massive Chicago wedding for (over 700 guests) and thought I'd share a few. It was spurt of the moment as they showed up at the studio and asked if I had time and all I had was my trusty D700 and Nikon 85mm 1.8 that I walk around with for street photography.

With no prep, limited gear and only one hour here are the results:

    nice pictures....but

    1. Picture: would be better..if both faces would be sharp...but thats not that easy..i kniow this ;)

    2. Picture: Bridge throu his head....never looks good.

    But, like i said. Good Pictures and nice Colour-Set!

    Very nice set.
    Just wondering, an 85mm for street photography? I find myself having settled on a 30mm lens to be best suited for this purpose.
    Street & Portrait because of the people. Landscape because it's pretty.
    Disappointed with AF of Tamron 28-75 2.8, me less happy.

    Nice set!! Under the circumstances, even better!. I was wondering about her hair, the spur of the moment must be the answer. According to Joe McNally the best camera ( lens, lighting etc} to use for street photography or ANY photography is the one you have with you!! Great job.

    Great shots! I agree with fixing the manicure in the ring shot. Also maybe not have every photo on an angle? I know it is popular, but I think some photos should be straight.

    Just a comment on the glasses on both- Even if they both love their current frames, I ask before I start shooting if they want to be able to identify the year they had these taken when they look at them in the future, or if they prefer a timeless feel. Frames seem to identify "2010", or whatever the year was, even more than hairstyles or particularly trendy clothes do. Also can at times interfere with the expressions in their eyes being as visible.

    But I like them. Nice job!

    Nice work! I agree that the set seems to be a little heavy on the tilt but I'm sure you have a better mix in the whole set... hopefully anyways! nail polish... sheesh! They are probably right though! I also agree with more dof on #1 and if you hit the focus on him it probably would have been enough to keep them both clear, but the bridge doesn't bother me at all since it is OOF.

    So a wedding of 700... how many shooters are you going to run for that? That is a BIG wedding!!
