Hi guys, I shot a few photos today to try to capture the essence of green. Which ones do you like and think are worthy of entering in the challenge? C&C Appreciated!

Thanks for the feedback guys! I like picture #1 too. I might play around some more today to see about getting a crisper shot. That one is a little soft when bigger.

And yes, I did have fun with green

Welcome to the challenges.

I like the idea of the first image.

If you are going to reshoot, I would suggest that you use white eggs (all of the same size) to complement the dyed eggs and to contrast with the egg carton.

I'd also suggest that you line up the eggs in the carton so that they are uniformly repetitive. It might strengthen your composition.

I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I can only use the eggs that come out of my chickens

And those green eggs are actually naturally green. I have a few dozen eggs sitting around so I should be able to pull out a better set of eggs. I can also use post processing to whiten the brown eggs a little.

Do you think that the pink carton helps to bring out the color, or should I use a white one?

(And also, the images I am considering at this point are numbers 1, 3 and 5. I've edited out the others.)

I like the first picture. I think brown/green is a good combination, but don't like the pink carton -- too preppy (and, I didn't know that there were pink egg cartons).

The eggs are naturally green? Very cool. I think the pink carton skews us into thinking the eggs are died. I'd try to go for a more natural looking setting with the green eggs. It could be a brown carton, or a bowl of some sort, that does not refer to Easter, but instead to spring. That might help us think of the eggs as natural, instead of the pastel colors we associate with Easter.

Mind you, I'm a novice, too, but I liked the eggs. I also love seeing the different ideas people come up with for the theme. Green eggs would not have been in my realm of experience until I saw them!

I like the eggs too and agree with the size to be equal

- I would try a white carton, just to see what it does do the picture.

I agree with Chris. I used to have Araucanas as well, but in my memory their eggs had just a touch more blue in them. Interesting how memory works... Beautiful, either way! Well done!

#1 is interesting, 2 clever (fast shutter speed) and 3 is curious. Good effort.
