Photoshop CS3 Extended?

Because I do not do much post editing to my images, I have been using versions of PS Elements for years to do all of my photo editing. I just recently had a chance to purchase a brand new sealed CS3 Extended for dirt cheap, so I bit. While I'm waiting for it to arrive, I was researching it a bit to see what I will be getting.

I hate to sound ignorant, but I really am when it comes to this program. From what I can tell, CS3 Extended is the full CS3 with additional applications for 3D and mulimedia imaging. I have ordered the Adobe 500-page guide and will start wading through it when it comes in. In the meantime, I would like to hear from CS3 users. What has been your experience with this version of Photoshop?

    Nobody?

Well, doesn't matter. Turns out the "great" deal was a pirated copy of CS3, so I am back to elements...

    Danny,

I am sorry, but when it sounds too good to be true.... well, you know the rest.

As for CS3, I liked it a lot when it came out, but I must say, that CS4 was a major improvement over CS3. I would not want to go give up the improvements in CS4.

Thanks. I always preach the "If it sounds to good to be true" line, but had a momentary lapse in judgement. I will be saving up and purchasing a REAL version of CS4.

    Hi Danny,

I just finished my BFA in Visual Communications with a concentration in Digital Design. Our school provided us with the full CS3 Design Premium Suite (they've since upgraded to CS4, I just missed out on that one). I've been very happy with the software, most recently using PS CS2 and a much older version of Dreamweaver. I haven't had a chance to try out many of the 3-D capabilities just yet though.

    Pathfinder,

I came across this link today, may on April 12th they will announce just when they plan to launch CS5. I've been approved by my manager at work to purchase the Adobe eLearning Suite, but was wanting to hold off a bit to find out when CS5 might launch. If it is too far off, I'll go forward with CS4.

    Thanks,
    Kevin
