30 minutes (plus?) to add Watermark to 4 photos?

I created a new gallery and uploaded 4 photos to it.
I went into gallery settings and changed them to mirror most of my other galleries on the same subject, including a standard watermark. I checked the box which said "apply to existing photos."
30 minutes later, no watermarks.
I have noticed that watermarks, caption and keyword changes are taking a very long time to update.
Is there a problem? Is there a plan?

The watermarks appeared after 43 minutes. The gallery involved is at this link:
