Nice set Melissa!! iloveyou.gif I think my favorite is #10

Here are some of my thoughts (if I may ...):

    1/3/4: iloveyou.gif
    5/6: Beautiful also
7: Love the guys in the back, great one clap.gifthumb.gif
9: Love the colors & composition! iloveyou.gif FUN!
10: Very nice, might lone out the black thing on the brick / bottom left (behind the couple)
11: The vignette is a bit too strong for my taste ...
12: Not sure about that one ... I see your idea, but think the harsh light & the distracting background on the left is kind of killing this shot? headscratch.gif
13: I like it, ... just somehow get the feeling the bride was uncomfortable in this shot (??)
    14: very pretty!
15: very nice shot, nice light ... but watch the background (fire extinguisher) :cry
    16 & 17: iloveyou.gif

thank you so much for the detailed feedback Angie! Your C&C is well noted, and I'll be going back to address some of the issues. that's why I always like to post a few preliminaries...to get a feeler of things that my eyes don't see. :D

I'm a fan of your PJ work here and really love #5 (killer tones and range of light). In #12 I would crop off the left side of the frame where you can see the street and car in the background to help draw more attention to the couple.

4 and 10 really do it for me. Mellissa, how do you feel about with this set?

I am gonna say it..I have seen better from you. If I had not known it was from you I would have thought..okay that was better then average. But your preivous work had set higher bar for me anyway heh.

Mostly the compositions are not really compelling for me. 1-3,12,15

    thanks for the comments.

moogle, yeah i think for that shot i was. i had been switching it on and off.

Qarik- you know, honestly i struggled. more so than usual. i think for a few reasons. This day more than any other I really felt the limitations of my equipment. It's not that the light was any worse than what i've dealt with before because it wasn't, i was just not satisfied with my flash. so most of the day was spent with the 50, and not much room to zoom with my feet. I tried picking up a 35 1.8 the day before but everywhere was out of stock. Another thing, the groom is the guy i second shoot with...so instead of working with him i was working for him...double the nervous pressure. I didn't know the main shooter that was there, and had a hard time working around him. I'm used to Joel and I doing our thing...we compliment each other and it just works. I just struggled with this other guy. He was really nice and everything, i just didn't know him and didn't want to be in his way. Also, it's been about 6 months since i've done a wedding, and i haven't been doing much shooting in general anyway...thanks to feeling like i want to run to the bathroom every minute of every day of my life (second trimester started last week...so cross your fingers that this goes away soon!!!!!) so i am a little stale i think.

These are definitely not excuses for anything...just my observations of things that affected me. I didn't perform like i usually do, and I felt it that day.

Overall, I'm satisfied though...i'm still learning, you know? I don't claim to be a rockstar photographer...hell this aint even my job. I'm an accountant by day so it's a mystery to me how i even have a hobby that requires creativity. I do it because it's fun and i learn. I have no intentions of branching out on my own, i'm entirely satisfied doing it the way I am right now. But i truly feel that the b&g will be happy..and I still have over 900 pics to sort through, i'm sure there are some treasures in there :)

don't know where that little speech came from but thanks for listening :D

Great work! You are quite good at getting the poses right and capturing the moments. I'm not a fan of blown highlights on the brides dress though: 7-11 & 13. Cheers.

Yeah i know for sure that 12 & 13 are a touch blown, but on the others my histogram and highlights highlighter in LR don't show them being blown... close to the edge but not over..

Thank you for the comment :)
