Sadly, I'm parting with my drainpipe. The lens is in mint condition, and works perfectly. There is no dust inside the elements, no fungus, and no wear on the lens itself. The lens focuses perfectly and zooms fine. This lens is extremely sharp, even wide open, I just don't use it as much as I thought it would, and will be purchasing a lens on the wide end instead!

Both front and rear caps included, and I'm also including the lens hood and tripod collar, which do show some wear, both pictured.

Price: $750

Oh, and the front and rear caps (which have been kept on the lens each and every time it wasn't in use) are also pictures and included with the lens.

I am interested in this lens.
But please forgive my ignorance, I thought all L lenses were white in color.
    Is this an older version?
If so, will it work with my 7D body?
    thanks,
    Tony P

All Canon L zoom's with a 200mm+ focal length are painted white to help the lens from getting too hot in the sun. However before this precedent started, Canon released two L telephoto zooms, including the EF 80-200mm f/2.8L and the EF 100-300mm f/5.6L, hence why they are painted black.

    Hope this helps.

Will this lens work properly on a 7D??
Is there any other real difference between this and a "white" non IS version?/
    thanks,
    Tony P

Besides the color, the 80-200mm does not have a USM focusing motor, back then they were using an Arc Form Drive (AFD) motor. Its a little slower and louder than a USM motor, but AFD works fine for general use. I do not know of any other differences, but this is a great lens. Also yes, all EF and EF-S lenses work on the 7D.

Another major difference: Canon no longer supports the lens.
