Panasonic firmware updates

Ziggy, there have been firmware updates for the Panasonic Lumix GF-1 and several of its lenses as well - the 7-14mm, 14-45mm, 45-200mm the 20mm, and the 14-140mm.

They can be found here - http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/dsc/download/fts/index.html

They were issued in late November 2009, so I would have thought that if I bought a GF-1 or one of these lenses in 2010, they would have been updated before shipping. NOT TRUE!!

I had to update my GF-1, my 14-45 AND 45-200.

MY 20mm f1.7 was up to date, but I just received it 3 days ago.

I started a new thread for this so if there is discussion about Panasonic updates we can have the discussion here.

I'll link to this thread from the master firmware updates linky thread.

Thanks. Be sure to note that this update renders third-party batteries useless on the DMC-G1 and DMC-GH1. There is no such caution listed by Panasonic for the GF1 (but I would exercise caution).
