First photo of Sigma's new 5000-200,000mm f/2.8 lens. Nick named the "Sigasaurus"!

Rumor has it this lens will cost $500,000.

I read somewhere that you will need an adapter and it is recommended that you use it with a monopod, at least.

    So many questions!

Looks to be an EF mount, so that's good, it will work on almost all the Canon DSLR's :) No focus ring, must be completly auto-focus!

To manual focus you step inside and start jogging like you're on a human gerbil wheel. You will be rotating the internal focus ring, while getting exercise. To focus the other direction you just turn around and go the other way. To check the focus while rotating, there's a handheld wireless 5 inch LCD screen that shows what the camera is seeing. Oh, and this has auto-focus too. It has Sigma's new HDHSM technology (Heavy Duty Hypersonic Motor) for speedy focusing.

Oh, and I preordered because I'm thinking this will be great for my new project where I take macro photographs of the space station as it flies over.
