Hi there - just read the following on the CNN website......

Folks in the USA get your cameras ready..... they advise that the dust could make sunrises and sunsets spectacular. Source: http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/07/23/dust.storm.ap/index.html

Perhaps irrelevant but I thought I'd mention it.

Cheers - Herman

I read that this morning too, seems to be heading for Florida. I wonder if we will get better sunsets in Georgia? It has been raining a lot here lately, so we have not had too many good sunsets lately.

Ah, don't feel bad. You get your share of wildfires, earthquakes, flooding and house-destroying landslides and mudslides. blbl.gif

If you're a meteorologist, this will tell you that the dust arrived at Key West on Thursday, 7/28/05.

So did anyone get any sunset/sunrise shots during this timeframe? I'd love to see if it made a difference in the color.

Post 'em if you got 'em!

Nikolai, I hadn't heard, thanks. Wonder if it will come to the Carolinas. I personally would like to do without the hurricanes. I am scared this year. I lost my island home thanks to a hurricane in 1989. If I could give them away, I would. I felt like I was doing that last year, as they all seemed to go to Florida. I am afraid that Florida is going to send them here this year.

However, don't be upset re sunsets/sunrises, smog ought to get you some very nice, similar, shots.:D

ginger (A dirty atmosphere can be a real pain, but it can sure make for some good photography, IMO.)
After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.
