    I like #1 better, but I am troubled by the BG. It competes for attention with the groundhog, especially the blade that is right next to the left side of his head. I think the BG really needs to be toned down and blurred.

    I might title it ,"Is that a rabbit over there?", which is a line from the "Earnest Goes to Camp" movie. That is now such an old movie that I am afraid nobody else would appreciate the reference. :D

    Great capture. Love them whistle pigs. I tend to favor #1, as #2 seem more blown out in my monitor (although I like exposure for the lower half of the marmot in #2). I agree that the background seems to compete too much for attention, which is usually one of the difficulties in shooting these neutral colored dark animals. If there is a way of darkening, desatting or blurring the grass a bit, it may be an even stronger image, IMHO.
