This weekend was Skyfest 2010 @ Fairchild AFB in Spokane, WA. Over the next few days I will share some photos taken at this event. It was a lot of fun, but very hot out there. I hope you enjoy them.

Thanks for looking, Ron

I am a bit curious. Are these bad photos, in the wrong area, just nothing exciting etc...

    Thanks, Ron

    Hi Ron,

These certainly aren't bad shots. I think folks get somewhat jaded sometimes and, unless there's something really extraordinary about a shot, they don't bother to comment. As a P-51 nut, I particularly like the last two shots. I would make one critique, and this is paraphrasing a friend who makes a living shooting planes: " if you can count the number of prop blades, you don't have enough prop blur ". He admits that represents an ideal situation but he " always shoots for maximum blur possible ".

I'm curious about the P-51. Do you know if that one belongs to Kermit Weeks?

Thanks for looking and the response Tom. I appreciate it. Yes, the shutter speed could have been slowed down just a bit more. I like the comment about not being able to count the blades on the prop!! I will keep that in mind!
I believe the P-51 is owned by John Sessions from Seattle, WA.

    Ron,

Interestingly, I see the P-51B you shot has the " Malcolm Hood " canopy.
I've always loved the B / C models of this plane. They were actually faster than the following " D " models but, even with the Malcolm canopy, did not have quite the all-important rear vision.

I appreciate the link you provided. If you look through that site, you'll find reference to the " Sizzlin Liz " serial # 44-74458. This is a P-51 D that belongs to a friend of mine and who takes me up in it. Quite a ride. I look forward to more of your pics.
