WOW---3,4,5,6! Awesome! Were these with your 70-200 or 24-70? I'm guessing these are with the 24-70. I have the 28-70 2.8 L and LOVE it for indoor versatility (its the predecessor to the 24-70). I also have the 70-200 2.8 IS and love that too but can only find the space to use this for portrait work when I'm outdoors. These are wonderful!

Photographically, a very nice set. Composition and lighting are really nice. However, I think the PS work is the make it or break it factor:

    1. The concept is good and the coloring is effective, but the edge selection/masking is just not sharp enough to keep from drawing too much negative attention away from the overall theme. The hair selection is not sharp enough and the edges around the teeth and eyes aren't exact. (Blue on the teeth, skin around the eyes showing).

    2. Great portrait, but the hairs across the face really need to be cloned out as they draw ones eyes away from the image.

    3. Now that one really works!

    4. The best one of the bunch - Stunning!

    5. Nice image/concept, but the flame and smoke just look too fake.

    6. Another winner except for the stray hair across the forehead.

    7. Right up there with #3.

Honestly, I think the strongest part of the image (hairs aside) is the eyes. The fact that the hairs lead essentially from the eyes to the mouth draws the attention away from the eyes. Had there been a little more definition at the hairline and heavier strands, then the picture would have a different focus and just might work. But in this case, I think it just weakens an otherwise strong image. Just my $0.02

I love my 24-70 for portrait work as well.
