Weekly Assignment #142: Ring Shot

It has been one of the wedding staple frames for eons: am image of the wedding rings. Photographers bend back over twice trying to find a new, unique, yet a pleasant way to capture this idea.
Let's take a fresh look at this and try to photograph two rings without so much as googling or peeking into the Wedding forum.
You entry should consist of 3 frames:
1) SOOC image (or images if you go for a composite)
2) Setup shot
3) Final result

Postprocessing OK. Multiple entries per person OK as long as they present different concepts.

Got rings? :wink
PS. Let's make one rule though - no "heart" shades of the ring(s) on the book. :rofl

Well... thats where I spend most of my time since weddings are something I'm really trying to get into...

I will have to steal my friends macro lens again and whip out some amazing ring shots for you.

Oh, and this gives me another excuse to use my Alien Bees :D

When you backup from your "setup" and shoot the "how I did it". thumb.gif

    I'll give it a try.
This is from a wedding about 2 weeks ago. Just saw the shot and took it, not really planned.

    Hi Denise, welcome to Class!
    1) pictures are not showing
    2) unless otherwise specified, we require fresh pictures, i.e. "taken specifically with the assignment in mind", as opposed to "oh, I think I have a picture that would fit this assignment", regardless how recent the picture is...

    Get the title? haha

Okay so I'm not sure I love the composure of this one but I like the idea of it. I'll have to go back to the drawing board and think of some more ideas. C&C Welcomed.

Stacy, nice idea, great title, and I even love the execution! thumb.gif
My only question: is this a fresh shot? headscratch.gif

Yes. I went out and shot specifically for this. I just got lazy and completely forgot to post it until today.
