Up until this last weekend I have never really explored Detroit, I spent a lot of time finding cool locations in Cleveland while in school but never Detroit. I know it may be strange to some but I really find beauty in old forgotten places. Here are a few of my photos, I hope to start spending a lot more time exploring soon.

    Agreed
I 100% agree with you. I LOVE Detroit and all of its beauty. Maybe it's because I grew up in Michigan and know its history that I love it. Either way, your pictures are spot on. iloveyou.gif

If you find that beautiful, you would have loved the South Bronx in the late 70's, early 80's.

From the photos I have seen I really would have. I know a lot of people don't feel the same way I just love the whole idea of the storys the buildings and locations could tell, this then just lets my mind go wild. Plus I sort of think of it like how a parent (almost) always has unconditional love for their child and always sees the best in there faults.

#1 and #4 are really cool!

I like the shoe in the foreground in #1 - as beat up and abandoned as the building. Maybe a little more contrast? It seems a bit bright, but that could just be my monitor. Also, try B&W.

I like the juxtaposition of the graffiti and tires in #4. And the composition is excellent.
