    3, 15, 18 are my favorites.

I would clone out the dark cloud in the first one, it takes my attention right away. I don't care for the lens flare in 19, but it works in 20 I think.

Otherwise, you have a great feel going on. I miss Indy :cry Me and my friends went there several times last semester when I was going to school in Marion, IN. Now I have to put up with the icky Wisconsin weather rolleyes1.gif.

16 I don't like. It looks like it was underexposed to accentuate the silhouette.
20 I don't like the flare in that one, 19 the flare is just ok for me.

The rest I really enjoyed. Lots of space and energy.
The ones in the street were really cool.

    5 7 10 15 17 are my favorites.

The puddle flip shot worked really well. I liked the series of about 4 of them that appear to have been shot with a 1.4 or a 200mm...the background is just gone...very nice.

Great set the couple will be jazzed when they see them!!!

Wonderful series Lynn!!!!! 3 and 14 are my faves. 3 is just stunning... as has been said her gorgeous eyes just suck you right in. 14 is just wonderfully complex in the way it shows her hand up in the foreground and down in the reflection. Love it!!! 7 and 15 are also great. 7 for the simplicity and 15 for the wonderful textures you got out of the puddle, I'm going with Jeremy on the first one. I would get the blotch out of there and/or maybe throw a subtle vignette on it. Also agreeing with Z on 16. I think it looks underexposed and I would add a 1-2 stops more exposure to it if it were mine

thanks for posting Lynn!! It's always such a treat to see your work.

    Matt
***edit*** Just to say how wonderful your comps are Lynn. You really, really compose well and the newbs out there should take special note of that in this series. There is so much good about these that it doesn't jump out like that at first look. the way you use the edge of the frames and balance/compliment your images with the negative space is truly masterful. People seem to take so much stock in posing and getting their clients to do this or that but that is a small, small part of what you have going on here. You can correct me if I'm wrong but I'm guessing your posing is little more than inspiring natural interaction and the rest is your wonderfully artistic eye. These two are obvioulsy very comfortable with you and so are unhindered by your presence.

This whole set is delicious! I love the two reflections shots... and of course #3.

Amazing! Love your processing too! Are you using some new presets or is it actions? Or just your happy little mouse finger doing its job?

Thanks, Jeremy! Good catch on the first one...sloppy on my part. These two share my love for downtown so it was a fun time. Indy weather is not much better than wisconsin...it's icy and 16 degrees today.:D

Thank you :) I must say, I knocked off a lot of my fellow Dgrinner's money shots, now that I think of it. That one is straight out of heatherfeather's book ;) the client really likes that one too, it's her new FB profile picture...the new era of compliments, I guess! rolleyes1.gif

And #7 is my fave too....still think the conversion is a bit dark but it was hard with that truck to make her clothes separate. But I love the muscles in her legs, the looking out for cars, I've shot a LOT of photos at this intersection and its my new fave iloveyou.gif

Wow, Matt....not sure I'm deserving of all this praise! 3 is an unabashed copy of a heatherfeather photo (maybe we should go head to head....original vs. copy? it would be fun!!!) 14 is kind of bleh for me, mostly because I've done it before and so have many others, but I liked their expressions. But thanks for helping me see it in a different way, I didn't notice her arm(s) before!

on to your edit....I am very flattered by your thoughtful critique. I know I don't have the sharpest, cleanest photos, my lighting and posing are sloppy, but it's nice to know I have some innate sense of composition. I do want to push the envelope in that regard more this year....especially with negative space. You are right, this couple was SO comfortable in front of the camera...I'd just find a background or patch of light I liked and they'd just "assume the position." I very rarely made hand suggestions or "make her laugh" etc. It happens rarely but when it does, it allows me to totally step back and see one scene in many different angles/etc because they could give a HOOT what I'm doing or how long it takes! :) Although, most of my couples forget about me by the end of a session...that's my goal anyway!

One thing that really stuck out in my mind and helped my composition skills was BDColen's people forum challenge where you take a bunch of different photos without either of you moving your feet. A very eye-opening exercise that has stood out in my mind. So don't be afraid to leave a client where they are if some chemistry/light/magic is working....switch lenses, shoot from 360 degrees, get on the floor, stand on a chair.

Well that proper photography stuff doesn't always matter now does it! I'll take a photo that shows real emotion, or tells a story, or makes me want to look hard to soak up the details any day over technically perfect! Sometimes imperfection is what makes a photo REAL and thus... perfect!
