    The 500D can be lots of fun, but an extension tube set can be usually be found for less expence and can also get you closer with your existing telephoto lenses. Greaper has done a lot of macro work with extension tubes, and you can see some of his shots here http://www.dgrin.com/archive/index.php/t-3928.html
