I find this shot really get's my emotions running high, I think it's just 'one of those shots' that provokes a feeling of loathing for the human race in general - apologies if that's a little strong.

The shot:

Explanation (thanks to my better half for the write up):
The Cat Survival trust is a charity run by Terry Moore and a group of unpaid volunteers in Hertfordshire England. Most of these cats came from private collections or zoos that could no longer care for them and it is most likely that they all would have been slaughtered if other homes could not be found for them. Some of the rescued cats in the past have been found good suitable homes, whilst the remainder have stayed at the trust's site. Along with the big cats, there are also between 40-50 domestic cats which have at various times been abandoned on their doorstep for a number of reasons. Although this isn't the main purpose of the trust, Terry has taken them in and given them a home. Terry and his volunteers are so very passionate about the animals at the trust and the protection of those still in the wild that they purchased an area of forest in Argentina (which is now protected), where 5 species of big cat live and are regularly monitered. Other similar projects are planned for the future. While I always find it difficult to see such magnificent creatures caged, I feel the world needs more people like Terry who try to educate people about their plight and take the time to fight for and protect these beautiful cats.

I don't think it's a load of rubbish. To me, it's difficult to put into words what I feel without provoking this into turning into a heated debate. I commend the organizers for doing their part to protect the animals. It's another story that only lowers my opinion of the human race. I find it sad that we are the only species on Earth that cannot exist without destroying everything around us, whether it be intentionally or indirectly.

    Thank you.

Just think how much better the world would be if every person on it thought like a photographer!
Travel the world, explore everything and anything, and leave only footprints! !

I like it. I "got" the title as soon as I saw it. They have a Big Cat Rescue right near me (oddly, called Big Cat Rescue lol3.gif). It is amazing the stupid things people do with these animals.

This is the sort of picture and story that makes me feel embarrassed to be part of the human race.

I absolutely agree with Gnome. Take only photographs, leave only footprints. And when it comes to that, watch where you're stepping.
