Pelican Case...

I was able to get a couple of Pelican cases at work that were being thrown away. These will make great hard shell cases to store and carry my photo gear!! These cases have no filler on the inside. I am wondering what you all might suggest for the inside material. I would think some kind of foam, but not sure what kind. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

    I suggest going to the pelican store and price the pick and pluck foam or the arrangeable inserts...their are people here that live by both..........
    sometimes if you have a surplus store (not necessarily /army/navy surplus) but here in wichita we have The Yard and they sell all sorts of stuff from hand tools to all sorts of
    military stuff and all sorts of metals (alum, brass, steel etc etc), ropes, cloth etc etc......they have had pick and pluck foam up to 4ft wide sheets......

    If you want to purchase foam padding, I suggest:

    ... for the "waffle" foam. They also have foam sheets that you can order in different thicknesses and densities. Cut-to-fit is more efficient for space than pick-n-pluck, although I do use pick-n-pluck for dedicated storage cases.

    WOW, you guys have given me some excellent information!!!! Thanks!! I did not even think of the the padded dividers. Thanks for the links. I just need to decide which way to go and order something.

    I just wanted to show you guys what I ended up with. I purchased a padded divider set from the link that FLYING EYEBALL gave and I am very pleased. It cost about $53 shipped and fit the Pelican 1450 excellent. Here are a couple pics of just a quick set up.
    Thanks again for the help!! I like this much better than just foam!!

    Looks like you got a great setup. Given how durable those cases are, it's like you got a new case for much less $!
