Thanks Craig. It challenged me to get an exposure that would show the owl's silhouette and not blow out the sunset sky.

Plus I was shooting through a window in my house since that was the only place to catch that perspective.rolleyes1.gif

For those that know the Tucson Area. The far ridge in the background is Kitt Peak Observatory. You can see the telescopes along the ridge.

    Crop of Kitt Peak view.

Wow Buckeye all the way to Kitt Peak. I want your lens. rolleyes1.gif

We get lots of great sunsets here. So many I don't photograph many of them anymore unless there is something unique. I couldn't pass up the Owl enjoying the view before his hunt.

    Thanks for the comment Gary.

It does look like the same sunset. I shot mine last night on Sunday, 12/12. It sure was a blast of some great colors.

Thanks for the comments Amanda and Joel.

Sometimes when you walk by a view you see frequently something unique catches your eye and you just have to run for your camera. :D

    Thanks Dan.

The image looked even better in Lightroom. To bring out the owl I had to push the darker areas which brought up significant noise. Noiseware Pro did the best at filtering out the noise but the exported JPG was never as clean as the filtered TIFF.

Maybe more for me to learn or maybe that's just the realities of converting to JPG. headscratch.gif
